Now in its sixth year, the Route 97 Music Festival features house concerts of traditional music held near Port Jervis, NY (“Where New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania meet”).
Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 2 PM: This year's concert performer will be Andy Cohen, a Memphis-based singer, guitarist, and blues and ragtime piano player. Andy also plays an antique mini piano called the dolceola. He performs traditional blues songs, many of which he learned from the original artists. When Andy performs, it's not just a concert, it's a history lesson in African-American roots music. If you like musicians such as Reverend Gary Davis, Ernie Hawkins and Scott Ainslee, you will like Andy as well.
As in past years, there will be no admission charge.
